Absolutely Batty
Real quick development update!
After working on a lot of the other aspects of this project for the last couple of weeks I’m finally getting around to working with some of the art I cut out last month. I’m pretty pleased with how the bat turned out but I’m a little unnerved about seeing a whole batch of them moving in unison so maybe more to come on that when we get closer to a polish phase. Playing around with the layers was really interesting and thankfully I learned a few new things that will hopefully pay off in the future.
On the other hand, I really thought the skeleton was going to be easy breezy since it was straight forward and much less layered. And it WAS, right up until the point that I loaded it into Unity to edit and animate. It’s still a little shaky, but once you see where he shows up I think it will make sense.
I was hoping to get his projectile actions done today but whether or not that gets pushed to tomorrow remains to be seen. On one hand it will be wildly satisfying if I can get it done, and it’ll put me in a really good position for the next character. On the other hand, Monster Hunter Wilds comes out tomorrow. This will certainly be an exercise in time management but I’m excited about either outcome.
